Infradito senza plastica? È possibile!

Se vi siete chiesti come poter sostituire in modo più sostenibile le infradito di plastica, ecco una possibile soluzione. Il brand Allbirds presenta le infradito realizzate con nuovo materiale a base di canna da zucchero, al prezzo di 35 dollari. SweetFoam, grazie a una tecnologia amica dell’ambiente, sostituisce i dannosi derivati del petrolio solitamente impiegati per le calzature. L’azienda è aperta a rendere disponibile la tecnologia ad altri produttori.

“La nostra canna da zucchero viene da fonti che rispettano rigorosi standard di protezione delle persone e dell’ambiente, standard sviluppati da Proforest”. È coltivato in Brasile e cresce grazie alla pioggia (nessuna irrigazione e quindi nessuno spreco di acqua), rinnovandosi velocemente e riducendo le emissioni di CO2 nell’atmosfera. È prodotto con energia rinnovabile. Inoltre, l’azienda utilizzano cartone riciclato per le loro confezioni.

Allbirds ha anche recentemente annunciato Leonardo DiCaprio come nuovo sostenitore, oltre a quello che considerano il loro importante investitore: l’ambiente.

Allbirds brand has just presented the flip-flops made of a new material sugarcane-based, with a price of 35 US dollars. SweetFoam, thanks to an environmentally-friendly technology, replaces the harmful oil derivates, usually exploited to make shoes. The company is open to share the technology with other shoemakers.
“Our sugarcane is sourced to rigorous standards that protect people and the environment. These standards were developed by Proforest”. It is sourced in Brazil and grows thank to rain (no irrigation, so no water waste), quickly renewable and reducing carbon emissions in the atmosphere. It is produced with renewable power. Moreover, the company uses recycled cardboard to package their products.
Allbirds has also announced recently Leonardo DiCaprio as its new supporter, in addiction to the one investor they consider important: the environment.
