One of them was of 2 tons. What has been collected will be transformed in a sustainable fibre, the ECONYL®, used by the fashion industry and in the manufacturing of carpets and moquettes, as the President and CEO of Acquafil, Giulio Bonazzi, explains. “But yet we have to look over the simple recovery and recycle scheme of the products at the end of their lives, thinking about sustainable design that allow the circularity in the different life phases of the products and about a manufacturing system more sustainable”.
ECONYL® is a regenerated nylon thread, recovered from fishing nets, fabric scraps and carpets destined for landfill in order to become quality raw material.
